A GP practice in Bourne has been commended for its dedication and commitment towards enhancing the services it provides to patients affected by cancer.
The Lincolnshire Cancer Care Awards, run by NHS Lincolnshire in partnership with Macmillan, recognises practices who demonstrate commitment to Cancer Care Reviews and provide ongoing care to patients. Cath Koutna, Macmillan Living with Cancer Community Development Project Manager, said the Bourne Galletly Practice had “gone above and beyond for its patients” and deserved recognition for its efforts.
Receiving a plaque and certificate on behalf of the Practice was GP and Partner Rebecca Mitchell, who said the whole team was delighted with the accolade.
“It’s so important to us all that we provide the very best services to all of our patients,” she said, “and obviously anyone affected by cancer needs to know they are getting the best care and support possible. We strive to go the extra mile and to be commended in this way with a Lincolnshire Cancer Care Award is wonderful.”
In order to considered for an award, Practices across the county must meet the following criteria:
- Inviting patients to attend a Cancer Care Review
