August Newsletter – Thrive Academy Lincolnshire

Welcome to August!

As restrictions lift many of us are experiencing the changes that might be happening around us as well as our rising rates of Covid-19. For many there are mixed emotions and still real uncertainty about our own health, our loved ones, the economy and what the future might hold.

The Thrive Academy brings an opportunity to attend live facilitated wellbeing sessions to give guidance and relief and support to its members. Here’s an outline of what’s coming this month as well as links to book any of the sessions.

The theme for this month is ‘How having clear boundaries leads to increased compassion’.

In this short video on our website emotional resilience coach Becky introduces us to the concept and gives some tips for further self development.

What’s on in August

Shapes Masterclass – ‘How to stay mentally well at work’

We don’t think twice about checking the health of our bank balance, our car tyres or checking on our career progress so why should our health be any different?

We have all heard so much information recently on how to keep ourselves well and yet still so many of us get ourselves back into unresourceful states and let our wellness habits slip, especially when we are busy, overwhelmed or stressed and need those wellness habits the most!

In this Masterclass on ‘How to stay mentally well at work’ we look at why this happens and give practical workable solutions not just for the more obvious habits like exercise but also the less tangible emotional health aspects such as having good boundaries, getting into flow and how giving can help keep us well.

This masterclass is on the 2nd of August at 7.30pm.  BOOK here

 

Mindful Pause

This 45-minute online session is led by an experienced mindfulness teacher and includes guided gentle mindful movement and sitting practice, a short discussion and practical suggestions for building mindfulness into daily life. You are welcome whether you are new to mindfulness or have existing experience. Choose either date or both!

Time to Pause

A safe and confidential online space for you to come together, with your colleagues, to share the highs and lows of working through challenging times, with an experienced facilitator. Sessions are 1.5 hours and space is limited.

Shapes Toolkit – full course

There are still some places available to attend our free flagship LIVE and INTERACTIVE Shapes Toolkit Training course, which introduces you to seven breakthrough coaching and productivity principles. This is ideal for healthcare professionals who want to beat stress, increase their own resilience and support their colleagues too.

This highly sought-after course is delivered live as two half days of training over Zoom on 14th and 22nd September, from 1.30pm to 5pm.

And a reminder about …

The Staff Wellbeing Hub in Lincolnshire

It’s great that you’re signed up to the Lincolnshire Thrive Academy and we also wanted to let you know about the NHS Staff Wellbeing Hub in Lincolnshire.

As a response to the pressures NHS and social care staff face, particularly since the COVID pandemic, mental health hubs have been set up nationally to offer staff access to wellbeing resources, rapid clinical assessment and treatment. Information on this can be found on the following website.

If people feel they need more than self-help support, then they contact the hub via the email address, Lpft.staffwell-being@nhs.net or call the helpline number, 01522 518609, which is manned Monday-Friday 9am – 5pm (messages can be left outside of these times).

Through this, staff will be offered a comprehensive mental health assessment, be then referred, if necessary, to ongoing support from the relevant mental health service that best fits their needs. All NHS and Social care staff will be prioritised for treatment, and placed at the top of any waiting list, and the services are completely confidential. The support is available for all health and social care staff working in Lincolnshire to access, whether working full-time, part-time, bank and agency, as well as students on placement.
