CHC contracting update

The CHC Finance & Contracting team established a new AQP Nursing & Residential Care contract in April 2020.  Following 2 procurement rounds we have secured 51 providers on this new framework which covers approximately 75% of our Fully Funded Nursing & Residential packages of care.

To build on this success a 3rd procurement window is now in progress, with 2 market engagement events booked in January and February.  There has been a considerable amount of interest in these events, with a further 21 providers signed up to attend so far, which very encouraging given the pressures our providers are currently under with COVID.  The market engagement sessions are run with support from both the Arden & GEM procurement team and Lincolnshire Care Association (LinCA).

Furthermore, to help support our Care Home providers we are running two training sessions on the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED), which was identified as an area providers needed further support with.  These sessions are being run jointly between the CHC Contracting & Finance team and a subject matter expert from Arden & GEM.  The first of these sessions has taken place and was well attended, with providers giving feedback on how useful they had found the event to be.

The CHC Finance & Contracting team are also working with Lincolnshire County Council on a joint procurement for a Direct Payment Support Service.  This procurement is currently live, with an expected start date of 1 July 2021.  In addition to this, we have worked with other teams across the CCG on COVID related Care Home and Domiciliary Care short term contracts.

Our collaborative approach with other teams and stakeholders has had a positive impact on our relationship within the care sector, which has been invaluable for the various procurements and contracts that have been completed since the team was established and will remain a priority over the coming year.
