As COVID-19 infections continue to rise rapidly in our community and pressure on NHS services increases. We ask that staff take extra caution with any festive gatherings planned over the coming weeks, particularly where these involve other healthcare colleagues.
We appreciate that teams are keen to celebrate together but we have recently seen an outbreak as a result of a social gathering outside of work, and a general increase in staff having to isolate across a number of services. This increases our risk as an organisation in being able to safely staff our urgent services.
If you have get togethers or Christmas meals planned, please remember to do so safely.
Consider what implications it may have if you go out together as a team. During social occasions we may not follow the same rules as we would at work and people may not wear PPE.
Please take lateral flow tests before attending and ensure you undertake testing on your identified days following any social gatherings. If you feel ill please remember to take a test and not to attend a social gathering as it will keep your colleagues safe. Please also be alert to the development of any COVID-like symptoms and isolate and get tested as soon as possible and finally please inform the HR team if you test positive or get an alert on your NHS app.
Most of all we hope you enjoy the festive period with your family and friends and please be mindful and take a risk-based approach to protect yourself, your colleagues and your patients.
