At Team Talk Live on Monday we were asked to clarify the position if someone was “pinged” by the COVID-19 app and what to do next. To help we have re-issued last week’s guidance. We have also added in the guidance for testing and reporting your Covid absence.
Attending the office and testing requirements
This flowchart explains the process for undertaking tests if you are undertaking ‘essential work’ or are attending the office for an ‘essential reason’.
What to do if you or a member of your family tests positive and/or are ‘pinged’ by COVID-19 Apps
If you or a member of your family test positive as a result of a lateral flow or PCR test, and are required to self-isolate or you are pinged by the COVID-19 or Test and Trace Apps, you should:
- Inform your manager as soon as possible, who will conduct a risk assessment (see below)
- As required, follow the rules for self-isolation
- Report your results by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
Covid-19 app “Pinging”, testing, and reporting
If I am pinged by the app should I attend the office/remain in the office?
If you receive an app notification to isolate, your manager will conduct a risk assessment to establish if it is safe for you to remain working in the office or continue to work from home. Details of the procedure to follow can be found here > COVID-19 App Notification to isolate – Risk Assessment
If I am contacted by NHS Test and Trace should I attend the office/remain in the office?
If you receive an NHS Test and Trace notification that you are a named contact of a COVID-19 positive person, you must isolate and inform your line manager. If you are at work you should leave the office and remain at home until you receive further advice from your line manager.
If the manager determines that there is a risk to the safety of a service, you may be contacted to assist with the risk assessment process. This will only be considered after all other possible solutions have been explored and must only be used as a last resort. Details of the procedure to follow can be found here > COVID-19 Test and Trace Notification to isolate – Risk Assessment
