Don’t miss your chance to receive a free commemorative tree

Staff Recognition Roadshow

Since Lincolnshire Recognition launched on 4 April, over 3000 NHS employees across Lincolnshire have received a free sapling – and it’s not to late to join them!

Over the last three weeks, the Lincolnshire Recognition Roadshow has visited NHS sites across the county, with staff attending in huge numbers to collect their chosen tree.

Due to popular demand, the Lincolnshire Recognition team have scheduled two additional sapling collection events to take place next week.

Here are the event details:

  • Lincoln: Wed 18 May – Lincoln County Hospital, Social Club car park, St Anne’s Road, Lincoln LN2 5RA
  • Boston: Thu 19 May – Pilgrim Hospital – grassed area adjacent to the Pilgrim Restaurant, PE21 9QS

How do I book my tree?

To book your tree, visit, register for your chosen sapling and tell us at which of these events you would like to collect it. Then head along to collect your tree – we look forward to seeing you!

What is Lincolnshire Recognition?

Lincolnshire Recognition is a way of thanking and honouring the Lincolnshire NHS team for its commitment, endurance, and skill throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, by offering the chance to plant a commemorative tree.

Many of those who have already chosen their tree are planting it to honour colleagues, patients they have cared for or in memory of a loved one. Some of these dedications have been shared on the Lincolnshire Recognition website – here’s a small selection:

“I’m planting my sapling to remember my father, who I did not see for the last three weeks of his life due to COVID, and to thank all the staff at Lincoln County for looking after him in his final weeks.”

“I want to plant a tree to show there are new beginnings for life after COVID.”

“I lost my wonderful husband very recently, just when we thought we were nearly through the pandemic untouched. We were already talking about planting a tree in the garden so this will be in memory of him.”

“Accepting the Dogwood tree as my recognition and reward as an NHS worker reminds me of the hard work both myself and my colleagues provide, not only during the pandemic but in every day of our working life.”

“Thank you for this kind gesture. I retire from the NHS this year, so this tree is a lovely reminder of my time with you all.”
