AJM Healthcare and NHS Lincolnshire CCG are asking all service users accessing the Lincolnshire Wheelchair Service, where possible, to cancel any appointments they are unable to keep.
The number of service users who did not attend their appointments increased during December and January significantly. A large proportion of these were people who had returned a positive lateral flow test result and as such were required to self-isolate. However, the remainder were service users who did not turn up or let the service know.
Letting AJM Healthcare know ideally 48 hours in advance means that they can, where possible, re-allocate that appointment to another service user who needs it. This helps us to reduce wasted appointments and protect precious NHS resources. Also, letting AJM Healthcare know if an appointment cannot be kept means that any re-arranged appointments are likely to be able to be offered earlier.
We do appreciate that there are circumstances where it is not possible to let us know in advance, however, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their co-operation
