Monday 01st November sees the countdown to #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving.

A day where everyone, everywhere can do something to support the good causes and communities that mean so much to them. It is a day to celebrate and encourage giving in all its forms.

You can volunteer your time; donate money; share your skills; campaign for something; donate goods, food, or clothes; arrange a community event such as a street or park clean-up or a coffee morning, organise a fundraising event, or inspire and encourage your network to do something to support a good cause. The list really is endless.

Giving Tuesday is unique in that is it owned by each of the partners involved. An unbranded campaign where our partners are encouraged to personalise the activities, branding and logos to make Giving Tuesday the best it can be for them.

Join and see what you can do……

LCVS are running their own campaign #GivingTuesday #GiveYourTime, check out what we are doing on our social media

Historic England is a public body that helps people care for, enjoy and celebrate England’s spectacular historic environment. They protect, champion and save the places that define who we are and where we’ve come from as a nation. they care passionately about the stories they tell, the ideas they represent and the people who live, work and play among them.

Part of Historic England’s role is administering the List on behalf of the government. The List is the only official, up to date, register of all nationally protected historic buildings and sites in England that are of special archaeological, architectural or historic interest. This includes listed buildings, scheduled monuments, protected wrecks, registered parks and gardens, and battlefields.

Purpose of this engagement

This engagement is an important step towards a new strategy for the National Heritage List for England (the List). Historic England wants the new strategy to better reflect the needs and priorities of local communities so that the List captures what is important to the wider public. As Historic England develops the draft strategy, we are speaking to stakeholders to understand more about people’s priorities for the List. As part of this engagement, we are keen to hear from a wide range of people, including those who might not typically get involved in our consultations.

How to get involved

We are keen to hear from residents and community groups in Boston. We are also hosting online workshops on Monday 1 November at 6:30pm – 8pm and Wednesday 3 November at 1pm – 2:30pm via Zoom. If you would be interested in attending one of these sessions, please register to come along to our online workshops. We will write to you again soon with further information including a link to our website and online survey.

We would be really grateful if you could send this information on to anyone else in your local area who you think might be interested. If you know anyone who is having difficulty accessing this information, please do let us know and we can arrange to call them instead.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch on
