PRSA Mass Vaccination Centre temporarily closed to allow storm damage repairs

People in and around Boston are being advised that the Mass Vaccination Centre at PRSA will remain closed for a few days this week whilst repairs are carried out to damage caused by Storm Eunice.

Having suffered damage to its roof on Friday afternoon, the on-site vaccination team took the decision to close the centre, in order to keep people safe.

“The wind on Friday afternoon caused quite a bit of damage to the roof at PRSA, so that we’re unable to safely operate from there until it has been repaired,” explains Lynda Stockwell, Deputy Director of Nursing and Quality, NHS Lincolnshire CCG.

“However, we will be contacting anyone who had an appointment this week at PRSA, and offering them the opportunity to have their covid vaccination at Fenside Community Centre instead, on either Tuesday between 2.30pm-8.30pm, Wednesday 1.30pm-8.30pm, or Thursday 1.30pm-8.30pm this week.”

The above pop-up vaccination sessions at Fenside Community Centre will also be open for walk-ins to anyone aged 12 and over (12-15 year-olds must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who can consent), and are in addition to similar sessions held over the previous weekend and scheduled in the coming weeks.

“We’ll update people once we know when we can re-open PRSA, but in the meantime anyone who was due to attend an appointment with us at PRSA this week will get a text message confirming they can attend Fenside Community Centre instead and we look forward to seeing everyone who’d booked in previously, plus anyone who would like to attend as a walk-in,” adds Lynda.

The pop-up vaccination sessions scheduled in the next week – including the three additional dates at Fenside Community Centre outlined above – are as listed below and offer people the chance to get vaccinated on a walk-in basis, including boosters (16 and over) or first and second doses (available to anyone aged 16 and over, as well as 12-15 year-olds provided a parent/guardian is present to consent):

Tuesday 22nd February at the Fenside Community Centre, Taverner Road, Boston PE21 8NL, between 2.30pm and 8.30pm, including boosters and first and second doses for anyone eligible (see above) including 12-15 year-olds provided a parent/guardian is present to consent.

Wednesday 23rd February at the Fenside Community Centre, Taverner Road, Boston PE21 8NL, between 1.30pm and 8.30pm, including boosters and first and second doses for anyone eligible (see above) including 12-15 year-olds provided a parent/guardian is present to consent.

Thursday 24th February at the Fenside Community Centre, Taverner Road, Boston PE21 8NL, between 1.30pm and 8.30pm, including boosters and first and second doses for anyone eligible (see above) including 12-15 year-olds provided a parent/guardian is present to consent.
