We are celebrating Black History Month

As part of our celebrations for Black History Month 2020, we will be holding a series of Microsoft Team live events which are open to all staff across Lincolnshire NHS organisations to celebrate Black and Asian History. With guest speakers with a wealth of experience around Race Equality, the live events will allow delegates to listen, share their experiences and the opportunity to ask our speakers questions.

For many, Black History Month is a way of reflecting on the diverse historical and present day contributions and achievements made to the UK by people from African and Caribbean descent. More recently, Black History Month also incorporates the history of Asian people and their accomplishments over time. Economics, education, culture, medicine, politics and science are just some areas where African, Caribbean and Asian people have broken down barriers to make their marks in society and have helped to aspire others to fulfil their dreams.

“A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.”
Marcus Mosiah Garvey Jr. ONH
